Riverside Orchard Camp

4 Guests (+2)    2 Bedrooms    3 Beds    1 Bath

Welcome to our Riverside Orchard Camp

Surrounded by apple trees and right on the banks of the River Wye, glamping in the Summer doesn’t get more idyllic than this. Sleep in either the beautiful shepherd hut, or a comfortable 5 meter bell tent – the choice is yours, as you have the whole camp, whether you are just two of you or with friends or family.  There is also a lovely ‘field kitchen’ which is under cover so protected where there is a sofa to enjoy the view, and table and chairs for under cover dining. There is a wonderful ‘field loo’ with open air shower, flushing loo and wash area.

The space

One of the bedrooms is a beautifully restored oak shepherd hut with a double bed.  This shepherd hut can also be made up to sleep two extra guests by arrangement. This is particularly popular with families with younger children who may want to sleep in the same structure as their parents. Another bedroom is set inside a pretty bell tent with a hard floor and two single beds. Just a few metres away, a wooden hut provides a rustic living area, comprising of a covered decking area to relax in the sunshine and cook. Here there is a comfortable sofa and a dining table. The bathing area is separate again (but only a few metres away), with a fantastic outdoor shower so that you can shower under the stars!

You have the whole orchard at your disposal. Everything you need to enjoy your outdoor adventure is here.  Gas hob, fridge (solar powered of course) and a fire pit to bbq or just sit round toasting marshmallows.

Wonderful walking right from your bedroom, or choose to walk down the (fairly steep) steps to your own private river bank for a picnic or bbq or just a snooze listening to the river flow past.

Everything you need to cook some great food is right here in the fantastic field shelter kitchen – gas hob, fridge, dining table and chairs – enjoy views of mountains from the sofa! This is a really lovely covered area for cooking, eating and relaxing with your family after a day of adventure on the banks of the Wye. British summer days at their best – walking among the apple orchards, watching the wildlife, making campfires and playing games.

We also have a large fire pit which is lovely just to sit around at night, but also ideal for alfresco cooking.

Not only this, but guests also have private access down to the rivers edge where there is a place to sit under the trees and have a campfire. While away the lazy afternoons here with a good book, surrounded by the chatter of the birds and the babble of the water.

There is also fishing for those that want (for an extra charge) and also local spots to explore if you feel the need to get ‘out and about’.

“We have just returned after 2 nights here. 5 star camping. The children and dogs enjoyed the space to roam. Every detail had been thought of making our stay really relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and we loved spending time cooking on the campfire. The field kitchen was well equipped and a great space to sit out the evening playing cards. Katherine and her son made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to help us find a site to launch our canoe. Would totally recommend this place for anyone looking to recharge and get a break away from screens – we got our children back!! We will definitely return.. “

Greg, August 2017

“This place is just wonderful, Katherine has thought of so much that you want for nothing while you are there. She left us a bldy good cake and we left nowt but crumbs. The beds are the cosiest things ever and the whole experience just makes you grin from ear to ear. We will be back!”

Sara, September 2017

“We had such a great time staying here. We couldn’t have asked for worse weather but the campsite is well equipped for that scenario. Really comfortable beds and the shower is a delight! Would highly recommend.”
